On Friday, March 7, 2008 Jetpool kicked off our second annual VLJ expo. We expanded the show to two hangars and two days, re-opening doors to the public on Saturday morning. Our goal again this year was to educate attendees on the multitude of available options for owning and operating a VLJ. Two blocks of seminars were presented by leading industry experts covering the topics: Management, Legal, Tax, Financing, VLJ Secondary Market, Mentor Pilot, Air Taxi/Charter, Charter-Management, and Shared Ownership. Attendance was affected both days by poor weather, but those who were able to make it found the displays and seminars informative and enjoyable.
Once again, potential owners were allowed a hands-on, comparison shopping atmosphere. Attendees were able to climb inside the cabin(s) and cockpit(s) to get a true feel of the VLJ experience while learning about cost and specifications from manufacturer representatives. There were 10 aircraft represented (6 aircraft, 2 mock-ups, and 2 models) by 7 manufacturers. This year’s exhibits included some piston aircraft which provide a gateway into VLJ ownership as well as a few larger model aircraft. Displays were also presented by 7 industry support companies. |
